Interested in joining the Stathopoulos Lab?

Undergraduates

* We invite motivated undergraduates with previous experience in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or computational biology to apply for a position in the lab. A minimum commitment of 12 hours per week, spanning three quarters and a summer, is expected. Candidates interested in applying to work in the lab should send a cover letter, statement of research interests, and resume to Angela:

Doctoral students

* Candidates for graduate study are encouraged to apply through the Division of Biology. The Biology program allows students to rotate through 3-4 different labs in the first year, providing a diversity of research experiences and permitting students and potential advisors to evaluate whether a given lab is a good fit. International and domestic applicants with exceptional undergraduate records, significant research experience, and a well-defined proposal for their thesis research may wish to apply through the Division of Biology at Caltech (http://biology.caltech.edu/graduate_program/).

Postdocs

* A postdoctoral position is currently available. We encourage applications from talented and motivated postdoctoral candidates with relevant experience in genetics/genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology, evolution, and related fields. The strongest candidates are those with a track record of high-quality publications, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for basic research, and a collegial/collaborative approach to science.

All applications should include the following:

  1. Cover letter, indicating current and future research interests
  2. Expected availability date
  3. Proposed research program, if applicable
  4. CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  5. Description of research experience and accomplishments
  6. Selected reprints of publications
  7. Contact information for three references
